Key relationshipsInternal to organization: Project Manager, Engineering Manager,Procurement Manager, Construction Manager, Commissioning & Startup Manager,Project Control Team External to organization: Client’s Project Control/Planning Manager ResponsibilitiesPrime Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team of Planner and CostController in developing, establishing, monitoring and controlling of projectschedules, costs, quantities and documentation for Onshore Oil and Gas projects.
  • Prepare and update relevant Project Controls sections of the ProjectExecution Plan, including WBS, CBS, Progress measurement procedure andReporting procedure
  • Monitor, report and analyse progress, and proactively alert theproject team on anticipated/potential schedule and cost overruns.  Analyse scenarios and suggest preventive / remedialaction.
  • Maintain budget tracking tools, issue invoices and billing, andforecast project completion cost and time, including earned-value analysis
Shared cross-functionally:
  • Act as an interface with the Project Manager, Finance & Accounts,functional managers and other stakeholders while preparing project budgets.
  • Analyse project performance vs schedule and develop accurateforecast of project cost & schedule on a monthly basis, raising alarms andmaintain healthy cash flow
  • Continuously coordinate cross-function activities related toplanning, monitoring and controlling of project activities and resources at allphases of the project
  • Support PM in the development and delivery of written/verbalpresentations to the company’s leadership and Customer
  • Actively participate in the development, implementation, maintenanceand upgrade of project control systems and communicate the same to relevant stakeholders
  • Actively support the Project Manager on change management, risk management,etc.
  • Participate in the selection, appraisal coaching, mentoring,training and developing project controls personnel
  • Support Finance on Forex / Commodity hedging decisions by compilingrequisite inputs
Key competencies – FunctionalNeed to have:
  • Experience of planning in medium-to-large sized projects across theproject lifecycle (concept, detail engineering through to construction, commissioningand handover)
  • Hands-on Experience on Primavera, PertMaster and other ProjectManagement software; Understanding of the application of Montecarlo simulationto schedule risk
  • Understanding of customer’s expectations of project controlsfunction (Middle East customers preferred)
  • Basic analytical skills, and strong numerical skills and aproficient understanding of and experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in coordination of Risk Management and Change managementfor the project through interaction with all relevant stakeholders
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of Financial management with good understanding of taxesand duties
  • Hands on experience with ERP (preferably SAP) and/or any costbooking-MIS interface
  • Good understanding of controllable cost drivers in the EPC context,and earned value management concepts
  • Willingness and ability to travel and stay at project sites forextended durations
